Pablo Escobar is responsible for some 20-50k murders, at least 1000 of which were cops. He placed a $100 bounty on the head of each cop.

Pablo’s plea deal allowed him to pick the charge he would be convicted on; only had to serve 5 years; kept all his assets; built his own luxury prison; picked his prison mates and guards. The Colombian gov’t allowed this because he agreed to stop the bombings (and he did), which meant saving lives

After Escobar was killed, the murder rate in Colombia dropped by 80%.
