Instead of saying, “I feel anger” or, “I feel anxiety” separate yourself from the emotion and say, “This is anger,” “This is anxiety.” The emotion has to be acknowledged and identified, but that doesn’t mean you own it. It’s a moment we feel, not a moment we own.
